Sports NationIt has sometimes seemed like the only team the Minnesota Twins can accurately beat in 2023 is the Kansas City Royals. The Oakland Athletics are just as poor the Royals, and I might have determined the reason. I'm certain it has absolutely nothing to do with talent and source managementallocation, and whatever to do with the reality that the A's actually played in KC for a time! The Sports began their franchise trip in Philly, of all locations. These were the Connie Mack, Lefty Grove Matt Bowman Jersey, Jimmie Foxx, etc years in which the group was either a juggernaut or a fire sale. Double XIn 1955, the A's were purchased by realty mogul Arnold Johnson and relocated to Kansas City, MO. Originally hailed as a hero for bringing baseball to KC, followers quickly realized that no sources would be taken into the group and reports abounded that Johnson just jumped to the Midwest to get a smidgen closer to Los Angeles for that possible expansion. The evidence remained in the pudding, as the Sports did not assembled one winning seasonbut did handle 8 90+ loss campaignsin their 1955-1967 KC period. Their general line: 829-1, 224. Adding fuel to the fire, Johnson had previous business relations with New york city Yankees ownership and typically offered leading leads he really did not desire to pay any kind of longer to the Big Apple. In reality, 10 players from the World Collection champion 1961 Yankees came from the KC Sports farm system. Finley chose to relocate them to Oakland anyway. The bond would ultimately bring about the development of Kauffman Arena for the expansion Royals in 1969. Freed from the Show-Me State, Finley's Oakland A's instantly began winning.
