U-Boat U-1942 Limited Edition: Giant Vintage Italian Diver
The limited edition U-Boat U-1942 watch is obviously depending on a 1942 design which was never actually made and it is a throwback to Italy's past. It is said that the Italian language Navy commissioned a special view, but it never went in to production. This U-1942 enjoy is directly based on which design - and it appears very sharp. The strangest part of the watch is obviously the crown. It extends out... maybe too far. From the little silly and phallic, to be honest. I mean it works, also it looks cool, but you understand... let's just say seems as though a periscope... Yeah, that is it. However , the purpose of the actual crown is to have a practical purpose. The idea is to allow it to be easier to use while wearing gloves. Simplicity of use means wrapping it as well as adjusting it. Not sure exactly how easy it is to release the particular crown while in the locked place while wearing gloves, but it can probably pretty simple. Also, In my opinion the crown can be adjusted and also wound underwater... which should be fine.
The watch is actually huge! The dimensions are very generous, with a grade five titanium case measuring sixty four. 4mm wide and over eighteen mm thick. What a beast! A minimum of it's titanium and not overweight. This takes large timepieces to the next level. The sweet-looking jump bezel rotates in both instructions and has a special lever that will locks it in place along with prevents it from revolving. This design does have lots of Ennebi in it, itself according to a vintage Italian look. Therefore all in all, this is " really Italian" in appearance. The darkish case is water-resistant in order to 400 meters and has an attractive dial that shares exactly the same design theme as De la firme watches. Interestingly, the watch fingers are made of German silver (it doesn’t actually contain any kind of silver).
Absolutely nothing brings out the traditional style of a good Italian dive watch much better than a thick dark brown cordovan leather strap with a big titanium buckle. The watch comes with the Swiss Unitas 6497 manual winding movement. This can be a solid movement, and even though movement is very simple, there are some desired touches. U-Boat and other brand names really like this movement, however I'd like to see them vary your workout with more variety. For severe collectors, the movement is not really as exciting as the look of the watch. Still, purchasers of this U-1942 watch is going to be proud of its cool design-and they are. I do like that typically the U-Boat always houses often the cute little auxiliary seconds switch. They look kind of charming, avoid they? Of course , the call is coated with lustrous light, making it very clear and simple to read.
